Janet White is a 40-year veteran of business to business public relations, marketing and sales. Her diverse career includes being a reporter for Newsday while in college, operations assistant at WABC-AM in New York when it was the # 1 radio station in America, 12 years as a commercial real estate writer and publicist in New York and Dallas, and 14 years as a durable medical equipment sales rep.
In the mid-80's, Janet was Director of Public Relations for Landauer
Associates, the country's leading commercial real estate consulting firm, where she handled business development-oriented publicity and marketing for the company's five nationwide offices.
She then spent nine years as an independent commercial real estate writer and publicist, representing local, regional and national companies in New York and Dallas, where she had moved in 1990. At the same time, she was a very popular feature writer for many of the industry's national magazines.
In 1996, Janet switched careers to durable medical equipment sales, and worked as a corporate field rep in Texas and Oklahoma and as an independent manufacturer's representative for mobility, rehab and later bariatric and patient handling products.
In 2010, Janet came back to her public relations roots and established The JW Speakers Agency, the only booking agency in the United States exclusively for local businesses owners who use free speaking as a way to build their businesses.
Today, Janet will share with us "Getting In and Getting the Yes: What a DJ and Broadway Composer Taught Me about Selling."
